I know the best thing I have ever done in my life was to marry Caroline. When you undertake a trip of this nature one thing you need is someone who will not let you down. Without Caroline’s support I am not sure I would have even contemplated the idea.

The driving in the first week was very stressful and finding suitable hotels everyday was a difficult task. Without fail Caroline was always there to pick me up and dust me off for the next day. All I can say is a Huge Thank You to Caroline.

The regular calls from Willy and Martin with support and advice also really helped. Without their knowledge and support the trip would have been a journey of trial and error.

We loved seeing friends on the way such as Elaine and Bryan in Exeter, Andrea and Laurence in Painswick, Amanda and Tim in Ludlow, and Olwen and Roger in Knutsford. Their unbridled enthusiasm spurred both of us on.
